At the beginning of the year, I set up a charitable association called Jamie’s Pride. It’s not a registered charity (that comes with more admin and requirements), but it’s a recognised way to manage donations provided they don’t exceed a certain amount. This felt like the simplest way to keep everything organised.
We’ve already opened a dedicated bank account for Jamie’s Pride, and it’s been used for donations collected at Jamie’s celebration of life, as well as from Horbury Academy.
The aim now is to hold a small community event in Netherton in Jamie’s memory. Any unused funds will be donated to a relevant charity so that every penny goes towards something meaningful.
